Hi, I'm Pomi
A little robot that wanders around your desktop, powered by an AI that runs on your own computer. No account, no internet connection — what you say never leaves your machine.
Say something to Pomi
Tap a phrase below or type your own. Try "turn on dark mode" — this page really goes dark.
This is a web demo with scripted replies. The real Pomi runs on your computer; green means a quick command, purple means the model is thinking.
Everyday requests, no waiting for the model
Pomi understands the phrases below directly and handles them in under 0.1 seconds — even before the model is downloaded. Anything else goes to the model, which takes about 1–5 seconds on a typical computer.
Pomi's quick commands are mainly tuned for Chinese phrasing; these are translated examples.

It always asks before it acts
What Pomi can do is a fixed list of tools — it cannot run arbitrary commands. Anything that touches files shows a confirmation dialog first.
- Confirm first: before creating, appending, copying, moving or trashing, it shows you the location and content and waits for "OK"
- Never overwrites: if the destination already exists, it refuses
- Never really deletes: files only go to the Trash, so you can always restore them
- Only in your home folder and external drives — never touches hidden files like
.sshor.bashrc - Goes online only for weather and web searches, and sends nothing but the city name or search terms
How Pomi works
Lite or Standard
The first time, go to "Settings → Assistant" and click "Download" — you only download once. Computers with 12 GB of RAM or more use Standard by default.
Qwen3-VL 2B
- About 1.1 GB download, uses about 1.3 GB of RAM while running
- About 1.8 s per request on average
- Picks the right tool about 15–16 times out of 20
- Good for computers with less memory
Qwen3-VL 4B
- About 2.5 GB download
- About 4.7 s per request on average
- Picks the right tool about 18 times out of 20, and rarely "talks without doing"
- Recommended with 8 GB of RAM or more
Measured on an i5-11400 limited to 4 threads (simulating a typical 4-core laptop). Details in the assistant design notes.
3D without a graphics card
Pomi is drawn by Pomelo's own software 3D renderer: about 500 lines of C, no OpenGL, no GPU.
Strolls around on its own
It picks a spot, walks over, pauses to look around and blinks; when your mouse comes close, it watches the cursor. It steps aside when you watch a video full screen.
Call it and it stops
Click it, press Super+Shift+Space, or choose "Ask the assistant" in Search. While thinking, it looks up and its antenna blinks; when it's done, it smiles.
Reads answers aloud
Turn on speech (Piper offline voices, about 90 MB), pick a voice and speed, and it works fully offline. Sound effects are synthesized in real time.
Let Pomi help you
Download Pomelo, go to "Settings → Assistant" and click "Download" — Pomi will appear on your desktop.
