Pomelo 0.32 安裝(ubuntu24.04)

  cd pomelo-0.32-ubuntu24.04
  sudo apt install ./*.deb

  sudo apt install --no-install-recommends ./*.deb

FAQ

Will it replace my current desktop?

No. Pomelo is a separate session — your GNOME, KDE or Xfce stays, and you choose which one to use when you log in. Pomelo's own login screen is optional and never replaces your existing one automatically.

How does it compare to LXDE and Xfce?

Pomelo rewrites everything in C — login manager, window manager, input method and apps — as one coherent design, without pulling in piles of libraries. At idle it uses only tens of MB of memory, lighter than LXDE or Xfce.

Does it support Wayland?

Not yet — it supports X11 (Xorg) only, and Xorg is installed automatically.

Do I need to download the Pomi assistant separately?

Yes. The first time, go to "Settings → Assistant" and click "Download": Lite is about 1.1 GB; computers with 12 GB of RAM or more use Standard by default (about 2.5 GB). You download once, and it then runs entirely on your computer.

Is the interface available in my language?

Yes. Pomelo supports 14 interface languages. Switch in "Settings → Language & Input"; it takes effect after you log in again.

How do I upgrade?

Download the new package bundle and install it with the same commands — your settings are kept.

What's the license?

Pomelo is free software licensed under the GNU GPL version 3 (GPLv3): you are free to use, modify and share it. Third-party components and their licenses are listed on the Project page.

For developers: is there an API?

Yes. https://pomelo.fedora.tw/api/releases/latest returns the latest version plus download URLs, sizes and SHA256 for every distribution (as JSON) — handy for update scripts.
